چکیده

Simple formulas on ∆d̄(x)−∆ū(x) are proposed for extracting their values from polarized deep-inelastic semiinclusive data. The present SMC and HERMES data suggest that ∆d̄(x)−∆ū(x) is slightly negative, though the precision of the data is not enough for confirming it.

Models for the Polarized Parton Distributions of the Nucleon

Polarized deep inelastic scattering (DIS) data are analyzed in leading and next–to– leading order of QCD within the common ‘standard’ scenario of polarized parton distributions with a flavor–symmetric light sea (antiquark) distribution δq̄, and a completely SU(3)f broken ‘valence’ scenario with totally flavor-asymmetric light sea densities (δū 6= δd̄ 6= δs̄). The latter flavor–broken light sea dis...

Light flavor sea-quark asymmetry for the spin-dependent distribution functions of the nucleon

The theoretical predictions of the chiral quark soliton model for the unpolarized and longitudinally polarized structure functions of the nucleon are compared with recent high energy data. The theory is shown to explain all the qualitatively noticeable features of the existing experiments, including the light flavor sea-quark asymmetry for the unpolarized distribution functions established by t...

Polarized light flavor sea–quark asymmetry in polarized semi–inclusive processes

We propose new formulas for extracting a difference of the polarized light sea–quark density, ∆d̄(x)−∆ū(x), from polarized deep–inelastic semi–inclusive data. We have estimated the value of it from the present experimental data measured by SMC and HERMES groups. Although the data might suggest a violation of polarized light flavor sea–quark symmetry, the precision of the present data is not enou...

Flavor asymmetry in the light-quark sea of the nucleon.

A phenomenological ansatz for the flavor–asymmetry of the light sea distributions of the nucleon, based on the Pauli exclusion principle, is proposed. This ansatz is compatible with the measured flavor–asymmetry of the unpolarized sea distributions, d̄ > ū, of the nucleon. A prediction for the corresponding polarized flavor–asymmetry is presented and shown to agree with predictions of (chiral qu...
